Balance bike + 2 kids bikes, Tucker Creek area, pickup only

Grandkids have outgrown a few things and I'd rather they go to a Conway kid than sit in the shed another summer.

- toddler balance bike (the no-pedal kind), blue, tires still good, $20
- 12 inch kids bike w/ training wheels, purple, a little rust on the chain but it rides fine, $15
- 16 inch bike, green, hand brake and coaster brake, $25

All came off my daughter's porch near Tucker Creek so that's where pickup is. Local pickup only, I'm not shipping anything or meeting halfway to Little Rock. Cash is fine. Message me here and I'll tell you what evenings work, it's too hot to be out there before about 7 anyway.

If you're not sure on sizes the 12 inch fit my granddaughter around age 3 and a half to 4, and the 16 was good for her at 5. Every kid is different tho, so bring yours along to sit on it if you can.

Also a question for other parents/grandparents. With all the church rummage sales canceled this year, where are y'all finding kids stuff secondhand around here? I used to count on those for everything and now I don't know where to send my daughter. Any consignment places still open?

Good prices Barb. That balance bike would go quick if it was my grandbaby's size, they learn so fast on those. I miss the church rummage sales too, they were the best part of fall. Driveway yard sales are about all I've seen this summer, mostly Saturday mornings before it gets too hot. Id also check the thrift stores now and then, they get kids bikes in every so often but you have to catch them early. Hope they go to a good home

Thanks Rhonda. Driveway sales are a good thought, I hadn't been looking since I figured everybody quit having them. I'll tell my daughter to drive around Tucker Creek and Beaverfork some Saturday morning and watch for signs. Catching the thrift stores early is good advice too, she works until 5 most days so she'd be lucky to catch anything.

You're right about the balance bike, my granddaughter had hers figured out in about a week and never touched the training wheels on the next one. Still all three here if anybody wants them.

second the driveway sales. saw a few off dave ward last saturday and one had a couple kids bikes out front. mornings are finally cooling off so more people are setting up again.

Thanks Zachary, I'll pass that along to my daughter. Dave Ward is a good stretch for it, there's always been a lot of traffic out that way so people see the signs. Funny how the whole road used to be mostly pasture when I first came here.

The balance bike and the purple 12 inch finally went to a family over by Tucker Creek last week. The green 16 inch is still sitting on the porch if you know anybody with a 5 or 6 year old. Still $25, and I'll throw in the hand pump.

Glad the other two stayed in the neighborhood, Barb. Bumping this for the green 16 inch. $25 with the pump is a fair deal for anyone with a 5 or 6 year old.

Thanks for the bump Austin. The green 16 inch finally went Friday evening, to a couple with a 6 year old boy. He rode it up and down my daughter's driveway twice before his daddy even got his wallet out, so I'd say it was a hit. They kept the hand pump too, which I'd forgotten about till they were pulling out.

So all three are gone, you can consider this one done. Thanks everybody for the driveway sale tips. My daughter went out Dave Ward way last Saturday and came home with a scooter and a bag of puzzles for $6, so that worked out.

Just catching up on this one, glad all three found homes. A 6 year old riding up and down the driveway twice before his daddy got his wallet out is about the best sales pitch there is.

One tip for whoever ended up with the purple 12 inch, since you mentioned the rust on the chain. A little squirt of bike chain lube or even 3-in-1 oil, run through the chain and wiped down with a rag, will usually loosen it right up. If the rust is just on the surface, it comes off fine. Also worth a look at the bolts under the seat and the handlebar stem on any used kids bike, they work loose and nobody notices till the seat is spinning around. Takes five minutes with a basic wrench set.

Good deal on the scooter and puzzles too. I keep meaning to hit some of the driveway sales out my way on Salem Road now that the mornings are cooler.
