- Re: Hendrix moved a couple of the sculptures - free Saturday idea
Late to this, but Cadron Settlement is a good call. Kids can run around and nobody minds.
- Re: Wampus Cats at Bryant Friday, who's making the drive?
Fine, I give up on the Bryant restaurant hunt. Eating in Conway it is. Greg, if you know a place on this side with a short wait at 3:45 on a game Friday, I'm all ears, because I've yet to find one. Everybody and their…
- Re: Conway Corp tech took 5th at a national broadband contest, and how's your internet?by Jamal R. in Local News ·
Thanks for adding Prince Street to the mix, Austin. So far the thread has covered Beaverfork, Prince Street and the lake trail, which is a decent spread of the city. Everything posted so far has been positive, so I'd…
- Re: Wampus Cats at Bryant Friday, who's making the drive?by Gregory Ward in Events ·
Steve's advice on eating in Conway first is sound, and I'd add one more reason to it. If you plan to leave around 4:30 like Jacob said, a sit-down meal in town beforehand keeps you from arriving in Bryant hungry and…
- Re: Wampus Cats at Bryant Friday, who's making the drive?
Shane, I'm with Steve, eat here first. I'm skipping the drive this year, my knees quit on metal bleachers somewhere around October, so I'll have it on the radio in the sewing room. The September crowd thing is nothing…
- Re: Wampus Cats at Bryant Friday, who's making the drive?
Eating in Conway is the right call. Bryant's visitor side has nothing to block the wind either, so bring the blanket. I'm in a stand at dawn Saturday so I'm leaving right after the final whistle regardless of the score.

Good call on the UPS, clay. I did almost the same thing but for a dumb reason. I run a pellet smoker and do a lot of overnight briskets, and a power blip at 3am will kill the controller and you wake up to a cold grill…
- Re: Wampus Cats at Bryant Friday, who's making the drive?
Skip the restaurant hunt and eat in Conway before you leave. Any place in Bryant with decent reviews is going to have 40 people in Cats gear standing outside it at 5:30, and you'll be one of them. I'd rather tell you…
- Tyler Moses takes Zone 3 school board seat, anybody know what he's going to push?by Brian in Local News ·
So the runoff is done and Tyler Moses beat Shannan Knudsen 2,138 to 1,863 for the Zone 3 seat. Linda Hargis didn't run again, so that seat was open. The Cabin has the writeup here if you missed it: [Moses to represent…
- Re: Conway Corp tech took 5th at a national broadband contest, and how's your internet?by Clay Crawford in Local News ·
Trees are always the culprit around here. The fiber is mostly buried so ice doesn't bother it, but the power lines take the beating. Whenever there's a limb down on a line, that's usually what does it. One thing I did…
- Re: Conway Corp tech took 5th at a national broadband contest, and how's your internet?by Barbara in Local News ·
That's the real test, kids streaming and gaming at the same time. When mine come over with the grandkids every device in the house is going and it never hiccups. Prince Street is closer in so I wonder if you get power…

Same here on Prince Street. Fiber's been steady for us and the few outages I remember were short. Kids stream and game at the same time and I haven't heard a complaint. Nice to see our techs get some credit.
- Re: Council results, and a Ward 4 runoff on Dec 1. Anybody actually going to vote?by Clay Crawford in Local News ·
Good call on checking the map, Barb. I had to look mine up after the lines got redrawn a while back and it wasn't what I assumed. The county election commission has a lookup that'll tell you in a minute. Agreed on that…
- Re: Council results, and a Ward 4 runoff on Dec 1. Anybody actually going to vote?by Barbara in Local News ·
Only Ward 4 folks get a ballot on Dec 1 I think, so it's even fewer people than you'd figure. I'm checking the map before I say whether it's mine, the lines move around enough that I never trust myself. I don't know…
- Conway Corp tech took 5th at a national broadband contest, and how's your internet?by Barbara in Local News ·
Saw this a while back and meant to post it. One of the Conway Corp broadband techs, Manion, placed fifth at a national broadband skills challenge. [Here's the…
- Re: Hendrix moved a couple of the sculptures - free Saturday ideaby Richard S. in Events ·
Neutrino out in front of Acxiom makes sense, it always looked a little lost where it was before. Haven't seen the Shaw piece at Pecan Court yet, I'll swing by. If you don't want a lot of walking, Cadron Settlement Park…
- Hendrix moved a couple of the sculptures - free Saturday idea
Went over to Hendrix this morning and noticed a couple of the sculptures aren't where they were. The Roy Tamboli one, Neutrino, is now out in front of Acxiom Hall, and the D.E. Shaw piece (Betatakin No. 11) used to be…
- Re: Greenbrier rezoning on South Broadview, anyone know what's going in?by Shane H. in Local News ·
Clay's right that rezoning usually just means somebody wants the lot easier to sell. Half the time the "plan" is a sign on the fence and a guy in Little Rock waiting on an offer. Doesn't mean it'll stay empty though…
- Council results, and a Ward 4 runoff on Dec 1. Anybody actually going to vote?by Shane H. in Local News ·
Still chewing on Tuesday night. In case you missed it, the [Log Cabin has the rundown here](https://www.thecabin.net/news/new-faces-elected-to-conway-city-council-fourth-race-headed-for-runoff-election/article_d7b2bcfa…
- data center on lollie road, what do we actually know so far?by Austin Tucker in Local News ·
ok i know people are tired of this topic but i'm still trying to sort out what's fact and what's rumor. so far i've got $1 billion, about 300,000 sq ft, right by the conway corp wastewater plant off lollie road, around…
- Re: Greenbrier rezoning on South Broadview, anyone know what's going in?by Clay Crawford in Local News ·
No clue what's going in, haven't heard anything and I drive 65 through there a couple times a week. Usually the planning commission agenda shows the plan before it gets to council, so the Greenbrier city website or…
- Greenbrier rezoning on South Broadview, anyone know what's going in?by Austin M. in Local News ·
Greenbrier city council approved rezoning on some property on South Broadview. Here's the [Log Cabin story](https://www.thecabin.net/news/greenbrier-city-council-approve-rezoning-of-property-on-south-broadview/article_6…
- Re: Lake Conway refill starts Dec 2 - anybody make the Mayflower meeting?by Joshua in Local News ·
Didn't make it, but 170 people on a weeknight says a lot about how many folks still care about that lake. Harvest in 2030 is rough. Hope the ramp question gets answered, I'd like to know too.
- Lake Conway refill starts Dec 2 - anybody make the Mayflower meeting?by Todd H. in Local News ·
Saw that Game and Fish is going to close the gates on the new water-control structure Dec 2 and start refilling Lake Conway. They're saying about a month to fill. Around 170 people showed up at Mayflower High School…
- Re: Art Walk Friday Nov 6 downtown, where are y'all parking? and is Oak Street still a mess?
Ha, the Wampus Cat question is my kind of question. I haven't looked up whether it's a home game that night, and with it being early November it could be a playoff week, so check the schedule. If it IS at home, kickoff…
- Art Walk Friday Nov 6 downtown, where are y'all parking? and is Oak Street still a mess?
Art Walk is coming up Friday Nov 6, starting at 5 downtown. My wife and I went a couple of years back and had a really good time, but I remember circling for a good fifteen minutes looking for a spot and then hiking…
- Re: Mrs. Doubtfire at Reynolds, are the $57 seats actually worth it?
Front mezzanine it is, then. Wife gets her faces, I keep $23, and nobody has to hear me do the math on it in the car. Thanks, both of you. Cameron, you're right that a November Bears game with a cold front coming…
- Re: Mrs. Doubtfire at Reynolds, are the $57 seats actually worth it?
Agree on front mezzanine. I'd rather put the extra $23 toward popcorn and parking lol. Reynolds isn't one of those giant halls where the cheaper seats feel miles away, and for a musical the sound carries pretty well…
- Re: Mrs. Doubtfire at Reynolds, are the $57 seats actually worth it?
Middle of the orchestra is the safe pick for a musical, you can actually see faces. Front of the mezzanine is a good bargain though, and I'd take it over the cheap seats on the side. Reserve the Cabe one early, it's a…
- Bears vs West Georgia Saturday, anybody still going?
Kickoff is 4:00 Saturday the 7th at Estes, and then Austin Peay on the 21st is Senior Day, last home game. We're 2-7 which, well. It hurts. My husband and I have gone for over 30 years and I can remember when you…
