i know it's still early but last year everything good was sold out by the time i called. where are you ordering pies and rolls in conway? someone told me ed's bakery is the old school pick. church bake sales any good, or is it worth the drive to little rock? would like to know deadlines and what you paid.

Ed's is the old school pick for sure, I've been going there since my kids were little. Go in and ask about the deadline instead of calling, because the counter ladies will tell you straight what's left. Last year I think they were already taking Thanksgiving orders by early November, but don't hold me to that.

Church bake sales are hit or miss. Some of the ladies make a pecan pie that beats anything in a store, but they sell out fast and most want cash. I paid about $20 for a pecan pie from a church sale a couple years back and it was worth it. Rolls I'd still do from a real bakery, since homemade ones from a sale can be dense.

I wouldn't drive to Little Rock for this. Too much traffic the week of Thanksgiving, and I-40 is a mess.

stopping by ed's in person then, thanks. cash noted for the church ones too. yeah i-40 that week is no joke, skipping little rock.

Good plan. Go early in the day if you can, the case gets picked over by afternoon. And grab a couple of the burger cookies while you're in there, folks have been going on about those for years.

Might want to put the order in sooner than November though, just to be safe.
